Volker Mueller Senior Product Manager, BEPS, Bentley Systems, Inc.
Volker Mueller is Product Manager for GenerativeComponents at Bentley Systems. He focuses on opportunities that parametric approaches with analytic feedback and multi-objective optimization offer in enhancing concept design and its decision-making processes. Throughout his career, he conducted research in computational design and shared what he learned with others. He has presented papers and lectures at conferences and institutions worldwide and has conducted parametric and concept design seminars and workshops, also using analysis and multi-objective optimization. His experiences include development on a 3D modeling software and design technology advocacy in a large architectural firm where he advised teams on large and complex projects. He received a Diplom-Ingenieur der Architektur from TU Berlin and, as a Fulbright grantee, earned a Master of Architecture degree from The Ohio State University. He is a LEED AP BD+C and an Associate member of the AIA.
This event has concluded Working with Alignment-Based Modeling
The system automatically detects your local time-zone based on your computer’s settings and will display the relevant date and time for you.
This GenerativeComponents Special Interest Group virtual workshop focuses on Alignment-Based Modeling and how to develop GenerativeComponent models based upon linear alignments from other Bentley applications. The technology presentation will guide you in how to:
Use a ReferenceAttachment node to link a reference file to a GenerativeComponent model
Place a Range node to help select contents from the attached reference
Apply the FromElementsInRange technique to convert referenced geometry to GenerativeComponent nodes
Use CoordinateSystem nodes to determine how additional GenerativeComponent nodes relate to the alignment geometry
Replicate GenerativeComponent nodes based upon those CoordinateSystem nodes
Continue building more GenerativeComponent geometry on top of a GenerativeComponent model started in this way
Attendance to this one-hour session is complimentary and open to all Bentley users.
Participants of this one-hour event can earn one Professional Development Hour (PDH) from Bentley Institute. To review your Bentley Transcript/Learning History, go to http://learn.bentley.com/app/Public. There, you can self-report your professional development efforts to the respective organization, licensing board, or professional association. Requirements may vary and acceptance of Bentley Institute PDHs is ultimately at the discretion of the those organizations. Bentley recommends that you confirm board or association terms and conditions.
