The system automatically detects your local time-zone based on your computer’s settings and will display the relevant date and time for you.
Join 2016 Be Inspired Award Winner, Jarmo Suomisto, Project Manager for the City of Helsinki, for a presentation on how Bentley’s applications were integral to the development of their 3D intelligent city model.
Participants of this one-hour event can earn one Professional Development Hour (PDH) from Bentley Institute. To review your Bentley Transcript/Learning History, go to http://learn.bentley.com/app/Public. There, you can self-report your professional development efforts to the respective organization, licensing board, or professional association. Requirements may vary and acceptance of Bentley Institute PDHs is ultimately at the discretion of the those organizations. Bentley recommends that you confirm board or association terms and conditions.
Using ContextCapture, the City of Helsinki generated a 3D mesh representation of its city as part of a three-year smart city initiative to improve Helsinki’s internal services and promote smart development. The City of Helsinki used a combination of laser scanning and oblique photogrammetry to acquire data and images for the project. Leveraging ContextCapture and a host of Bentley 3D reality modeling applications, the team modeled the surface and terrain and generated a reality mesh model of the entire city.
The City of Helsinki has a robust history of 3D city modeling. As a forerunner of reality mesh and semantic city modeling in Finland, Helsinki has a co-operation project-portfolio with companies and universities to promote knowledge and technology. This portfolio is a key tool to get tangible benefits from city models and also encourage companies on product development.
