Industry-Specific Forums

Each Forum is an ideal venue for infrastructure professionals to interact with peers and industry visionaries, learn about best practices, advances in technology, and hear from utilities around the world about projects and lessons learned. Attendees are able to attend sessions in multiple forums.

The Building and Facilities Forum
Join global executives to discuss relevant industry topics influencing the business of building design, construction and operations. Proposed topics of discussion include design virtualization, computational design, high performance structures, multi-discipline design review and BIM project planning. Bentley software executives will review the capabilities and benefits of CONNECT Edition products.

The Rail and Road Forum
The Rail and Road Forum is the ideal venue for you to interact with your peers and industry visionaries, understand how users are tackling key issues across the project lifecycle, and explore innovative solutions covering design, construction, and maintenance.

This year, the Rail Forum will focus on next-generation technologies from Bentley for the integrated design of rail infrastructure—such as track, signaling, and electrification. Innovations from the Rail Academy will also be showcased, including extending the scope of the Academy to include operations and maintenance.

The Oil, Gas and Chemical Forum
With continued pressures on global commodity prices in the oil, gas, and chemical sector, coupled with a reduction in new greenfield capital projects, resources industries are focusing attention on increasing operational efficiencies, production availability, and overall return on existing assets. With greater emphasis on asset performance and reliability, the Oil, Gas, and Chemical Forum will review current global industry trends that are shaping future capital investment and discuss new approaches being applied to increase overall asset performance aligned with the latest innovations in technology. The forum will share lessons learned and best practices through user presentations, interactive panel discussions, and focused breakout groups.

The Utilities Forum
This year, the Utilities Forum focuses on the technology, processes, best practices, and advances in technology that utilities are using to achieve better performance. The forum begins with a thought‐provoking keynote that examines the current and future challenges facing modern utilities in the management of their assets and people, and the delivery of acceptable services to their customers.

The keynote is followed by a series of sessions where guests attend pertinent presentations given by representatives from utility sectors, engineering firms, and industry organizations, or converse with panel members chosen for their expertise in the topics. Topics for the panel sessions include operational analytics, asset health and reliability, and mobile asset management. Presentation sessions will cover buried utility management, reality modeling for engineering and asset performance management, and intelligent engineering of new build and expansions. Expect lively and thought-provoking discussions where you can learn and interact with utilities experts from around the world.

The Visions for the Future Forum
The Visions for the Future Forum focuses on research by Bentley Fellows and their guests. The speakers will discuss the latest results in their areas of research, including facilitating onsite decision making using mobile model and data navigation technologies; advancing infrastructure performance through smart sensing, data analytics, and reality modeling; and panoptic construction planning.
